LABELING FEATURES

One of the difficulties when buying clothes and some applications abroad is choosing the right size. It so happened that different countries use different measurement systems. Those who bought branded clothing of foreign brands have already noticed that one marking is accepted in Ukraine, another in Europe, and the third in the USA. How to explain the difference? For example, if in Europe the sizes are measured in centimeters, then in America – in inches, for this reason there is confusion.

First of all, it is necessary to mention the basic standard international sizes, which have a letter designation. Most of us already know these notations well.

Many manufacturers indicate precisely this marking on their products, so those who are guided by this system will not be difficult to make the right choice. For example, graceful women with the 40th size buy a dress with the mark “XS”, and men with the 52nd size will not be mistaken when they buy a sweatshirt with the letter designation “XL”.

Marking Size description
XS Extra Small (40–42)
S Small (44)
M Medium (46–48)
L Large (50)
XL eXtra Large (52–54)
XXL eXtra eXtra Large (56)

CUSTOMS DUTY AND TAXES

There are moments that do not depend on us. In this section, we present useful information that will help you understand some of the intricacies of international trade. Take some time to learn more about customs requirements, additional taxes, and some mistakes that buyers sometimes make when placing orders abroad.

CUSTOMS INSPECTION

When making purchases at auctions and in US online stores, customers have to deal with the customs service of their country. Customs duties include inspecting international mail. Parcels are checked for the content of prohibited goods (each country has its own list of goods prohibited for import and export) and the need to pay customs duties. Customs duty (if required) is paid by the recipient in the country where the parcel arrives.

INDIVIDUAL CUSTOMS CLEARANCE

Sometimes parcels must go through the duty-free limit, the customs does not accept according to the simplified procedure of customs clearance. This happens with non-commercial items if:

  • the parcel contains many goods of the same name;
  • the same person (addressee) regularly receives parcels with the same goods;
  • the purpose of the goods is doubtful (goods for personal / domestic use are considered non-commercial). Individual customs clearance implies a higher customs tariff.

HOW BUYERS ARE MISTAKED

Some buyers negotiate with the seller to indicate a lower value than the actual value of the package. Such a dubious shipment can attract the attention of customs officers – in this case there are unpleasant consequences in the form of additional payments. If there is an objective reason for the low cost of goods, we recommend that you attach documents confirming the indicated price to the shipment.

Item weight

Do not forget that you need to add about 20% of the weight, since the weight is indicated without taking into account the weight of the package (the weight of the package depends on the fragility of the product). The weight of the goods indicated below is approximate.
